Can I Make Money With Online Gambling?

Article Presented by:
Copyright © 2009 Skyler Ace

With the recent surge in popularity of online gambling people are beginning to question its existence. A resurging question is its economic viability. Is it possible to make some money of Online gaming? How lucrative is it and how high are the risks involved?

The answers to those questions are; yes it is possible. It can be very lucrative. And the risk, like most games, depends on a lot of factors.

Is It Possible To Make Some Money Of Online Gaming?

Yes it is possible to make money from online gaming. Doing so will however require, commitment, a bit of study and a lot of mental strength. Take the example of online football betting. If you're a football fan, you must have by now formed some opinion on which team is most likely to win in encounters. From this, it is possible to decide which bets to place and the degree of risk associated with your decision.

Placing a bet that a team like bottom ranked Sunderland will triumph over the World champions Manchester United, whilst possible, is clearly not a safe bet. However, if your hunch does come true the rewards can be worth the risk.

How Lucrative Is It?

The profitability of online gaming will depend a lot on your willingness to be patient. Success will not come overnight despite all that you have read. Like everything in life, it will require diligence, commitment and a steady growth of talent and skill. You will most probably lose a lot in the beginning. But with patience, your results will improve and consequently your prizes. Talking with people who have older and better experience is also a good idea. They will provide tips and ideas which will come in handy. Keeping updates where necessary (i.e. the status of players in your wagered team) will help provide you with a better outlook at the odds going in.

How High Are The Risks Involved?

It can be quite risky. Gambling has always been an art involving high risk. Nothing has really changed in its online version, but it does present with it a few options. The problem of losing face which used to spur people on in the face of glaring defeat is easily fixed behind the anonymity provided by online gaming. Of course this works both ways. It also means that people are more likely to make rash decisions knowing that their identity is protected from the sneering public. The issue of risk will depend a lot on your decision and choice. Betting small at the beginning is usually a good idea. It will prevent you from taking too hard a hit, whilst providing you with better insight into the mechanics of the game.

In the end, patience will be the deciding factor in determining your results. Whilst it is possible to post huge results in just six months it is more probable that it will take at least a year before you register your first success. So, think long and hard before you make a decision to begin online gaming.

There are high risks involved with gambling online. It can wipe you out, of all your savings in a short time, before you know what you're doing. Before you get involved in online gambling, consider the possibility of losing all your money. Though the money that you're using for your online gambling is not visible and tangible, it is very much what you or your family has worked for.

If you wish to make a professional living out of it, be prepared for surprises and let downs. But if you stick at it and avoid making terribly rash decisions, you may well be pleasantly surprised the next time you pay a visit to your bank.

How To Say No!

Article Presented by:
Copyright © 2009 Carol Chanel

"I meant to say NO." We've all have had the experience where we meant to say no to someone. We knew it was going to be difficult but we were determined this time. Then next thing you know, we're saying yes. How did that happen? Why did that happen?

Do you notice that the very people you mean to say no to, are the ones who seem to draw the life energy out of you?

It reminds me of buying a car. You know how much the car costs, how much you can spend, and the next thing you know the salesman has worn you down and your energy is totally spent and you'll say yes to anything just to get out of the dealership.

I don't mean to pick on car salesmen, there are great ones out there who are very helpful and have your best interests at heart.

There are people who are trained to get their way. They will be persistent and determined to get you to say yes.

I take my car to a local car wash and the man who writes up your ticket is a master at getting people to buy the full works. You know the $35 hand wash, hand wax, air freshner, etc. I actually can't stand going there because I know each time I'll have to be really strong and almost harsh to get him to back down. I just want a regular wash and wax. Do you want the $8, the $4 or the $2 wax? Just put the wax on the car and let me out of here!!!

These people are what I call energy suckers and you're the energy lollipop. What actually goes on?

How Do People Get Your Energy?

People learn, from a young age, how to control other people to get their way. Here are some of the techniques they'll use:

  • Manipulation

  • Acting aloof by puling away in an attempt to have you chase them

  • Money or gifts

  • Bullying techniques - verbal, emotional or physical

  • Hostility

  • Persistence

  • Crying or drama of some sort

  • Acting intellectually superior

  • How Do They Control You?

Whatever they do to control you, there's only one reason why it happens.

    You allow it.

You allow it because you tell yourself you need something from these particular people. Like love, validation, acceptance, approval, a job, a home, or something as simple as your car washed.

Or you allow it because you don't want to be seen a certain way - like harsh, uncooperative, unkind, not nice!

Remember, as women we were raised to be good girls, to be sweet and helpful, not to be assertive, not to compete with each other and at all costs not to create conflict.

How To Be Released From Their Control?

So whatever your reason, it will keep you from being firm. So next time you need to say no, look to see what might keep you from no. Then once you understand that reason, instead of trying to get it from an outside source, give yourself the love, validation or acceptance. Or let go of needing to be seen a certain way.

When you give yourself what you need, you take your energy back. Then you will release yourself from their control.

When you connect to an all-loving God (Divine Source) you will be filled with love, light and joy. God is THE energy source.

Everything comes from God (Divine Source.) If you think that your mother, brother, boyfriend, father, boss, teacher, or husband is the source then you can be controlled. If you realize you receive everything you need and want when you connect to God, then you can freely have what you want. No cost. Yes to God, no to human control.

Saying NO to others who want you to do something you don't want to do, is saying YES to yourself.

The Cost of Not Saying No!

The impact of not saying no to others can be costly to your health, relationships and your spirit.

So the next time your boss asks you to stay late when you have dinner plans, choose yourself and go to dinner. The next time a friend wants you to listen to her sob story, for the 10th time, and it's your workout night, choose yourself and go workout. The next time your boyfriend or spouse wants you to stay at home and watch TV when you have plans to go to the movies with your girlfriends, choose yourself and go to the movies.

You'll be training people how to treat you. You'll be taking care of yourself. You'll be maintaining balance in your life. You'll be building strong relationships.

Remember people are not your Source. Of anything. They may look like it, but they're not. If you get fired for not working late, then you'll get another job right away. If your friend gets mad and doesn't want to talk to you, well sounds like you'll be saving yourself from lots of drama. And if your boyfriend doesn't like you going to the movies with your girlfriends, get another boyfriend. There are plenty where he came from. God or Divine Source will send you anything you need. Just ask and be open to receiving it.

Choose to take care of yourself. Choose to be firm. Choose to say NO to others. Choose to say YES to yourself. Choose the basic $15 car wash.

    Imagine the possibilities....

The Mystique of Numbers in Company Names

    Article Presented by:
    Copyright © 2009 Marcia Yudkin

While visiting the House of the Seven Gables in Salem, Massachusetts two weeks ago, made famous in the 1851 book by Nathaniel Hawthorne, I mentally tried out other numbers to see if they would sound as spooky and portentous.

To my ear, House of the Five Gables sounds all too ordinary, while House of the Eight Gables lacks anything that would send a chill up someone's spine. Both the sound of "seven" and its properties as both odd and prime give it a reverberating ring.

I would go so far as to say that numbers have personalities that you need to be aware of when using them in company or product names.

Motel 6: Here, "six" comes across as routine and humdrum, very much like the rooms and prices in this chain.

Super 8: If this motel chain was trying to convey higher quality than Motel 6, it works. Note too that with two long and one short vowel sounds to its competitor's one long and two short ones, the name Super 8 commands more attention while taking up no more space.

Heinz 57: Company founder Henry John Heinz engineered the company's address at PO Box 57 in Pittsburgh in addition to using this number in the corporate slogan ("57 Varieties") and in the name of its steak sauce. I doubt it would have lasted since 1896 as Heinz 28 or Heinz 91 or even Heinz 37.

Note that you don't have to provide an explanation of a number you include in a business name. The Heinz company web site says only that the numbers "5" and "7" had a special significance for founder Henry John Heinz and his wife, not what that significance was. Likewise, the bottle of "Formula 3" shampoo that my hairdresser recently sold me says nothing about what the "3" means.

Just be mindful that certain numbers carry heavy baggage to members of some ethnic and religious groups. For instance, "four" is unlucky to many Chinese because in their language it's a homonym for death. And to Christians, the sequence "666" signifies the devil. "Thirteen" is shunned in many cultures for reasons unknown.

Be mindful also that for a local business, people don't know how to look up company names starting with numbers. If you heard the name "18 Candles" for a party products company, should you look it up in the telephone directory under "E" for "eighteen" or in the front of the book, before the A's? When the number comes after a regular word, as with Studio 54, you avoid this problem.

Finally, when it comes to web domains, most people hearing a company name with a number in it will assume it's written with the numeral rather than in words. They'd look up motel6.com rather than motelsix.com. Even so, you'd be smart to reserve both versions. Motel6.com indeed corresponds to the motel chain, but motelsix.com goes to a site for finding a cheap motel room. Likewise, the founder of fivethirtyeight.com, a political web site referring to the number of seats in the U.S. Congress, thought the written-out-words looked more elegant and neglected to reserve the domain 538.com.

Participants in my product development seminar recently asked me for a brainstorming session to help them come up with creative names for information product packages - multi-format products and services that might include a manual, CDs, coaching or consulting and other items.

Here are the questions I posed for this group, along with some examples illustrating product names developed from each idea.

    1. What is the result your customers want?

  • Lose Weight Before Bikini Season

  • Finish Your First Marathon

  • The Fame and Fortune Program

  • Double Your Donor Base

  • 2. Who are your customers?

  • Fun Fundraising for Museums

LOA: The Secret and The Law of Attraction Doesn't Work! 3 Reasons Why

    Article Presented by:
    Copyright © 2009 Andrew Brinkworth

Okay, we've all heard the reviews from friends and family.

"Oh, The Secret, my friend read it and said it was a joke so I didn't bother," says Mom.

"It worked for a while and then I gave up because I didn't get the car I wanted," says Uncle Larry

"It's just a lot of metaphysical hokum," says Steve your best friend.

Let's be quite honest, each and every one of those statements is absolutely true. Look at the search results there are just as many con articles as there are pro articles written about The Law of Attraction and The Secret. So we must say that the statements are true. FOR THEM!

Yes for them. They got out of it exactly what they put into it, and I am sure that what they put into it was exactly what most people put into it. "I've read the book, now where's my Ferrari."

The fact of the matter is, there is a Secret to the Secret and The Law of Attraction, in fact, make that 3 Secrets. The first will leave most people kicking themselves. The second is perhaps something that most people fail to recognize. The third, well the third takes some work but there are two professionals who are ready to help you!

Let's start with the first Secret. What does the Secret warn you about straight away in the book? The Universe manifests our thoughts and it cautions us to focus on our thoughts and remain positive. It's kind of a scare tactic. Think bad thoughts and bad things will happen to you; think good thoughts and you'll get good things (The Ferrari).

There is a better way to explain this because of the simple fact that in many ways, we do what most children will do when faced with this dilemma. We'll act good until we get what we want and then go back to normal after we get it. Think I'm wrong? Ask yourself why all the little terrors in your neighborhood become angels around Christmastime!

The same goes for us if we don't get what we want. We're good positive people and we think about the new house or money and after a while we don't get what we want and feel foolish and cheated and revert back to the glass is half-empty realists we were. We are ignoring a singular fact here that eludes all of us. When I read that book, I was a tremendously positive person. Everything was possible and I was going to get it. But it seemed to take a while and then I got discouraged and reverted. What did I miss?

I was happy! My friends said so, my wife said so, my parents thought so. I was a positive person for a change and people liked to have me around. And then I woke up one day and forgot. It happens. I forgot that nothing happens to me unless I act. If I don't do anything how can I ever get what I want?

Let me give you an example. A while back I worried about losing my job so I started staying up late at night working on side projects. Then I overslept and the boss fired me. You can say that it's my fault because it was, but you can also say that by thinking negatively about my job I put myself in the position where my boss had the excuse he needed to let me go! Every time I had trouble at work, it's because I was worried about my job or needed an excuse to leave. I got my wish every single time!

The moral here is that if I had just remained positive that something better was going to happen and remained a joyful person I might have enjoyed my job more or at least been someone that another company would kill to have work for them! So be positive for the only reason that I can think of. IT FEELS BETTER. Don't do it for the car do it for yourself to feel better.

The second Secret is something that most people fail to realize. If you look at the DVD and the book you notice that it's extremely basic. Why, was it so simple? So that everyone could get the basic understanding of what The Law of Attraction was all about!

The Secret is, AN EASY READER. It's only the beginning of a much larger course of study that delves both into our connection with the world around us and entreats us to look deeper into ourselves to become better people. The answer here is that for the Law of Attraction to work, it must become a lifestyle and not a phase.

The third Secret does take some work. I've been hinting at it throughout this article, I wonder if you've picked up on it yet. The reason why the Secret didn't work for you is YOU! Yes with all our hang-ups and pre-conceived notions we stopped the Universe from working for us and turned it against us. How?

Let me ask you if this sounds familiar. You've had a great day, you've said all the right things, and you've thought all the positive thoughts but its taking a little while to manifest. So, late at night as you sit in the dark you do what countless people do. You quietly sabotage yourself back to what you think is reality.

You know that thoughts I'm speaking of: "This can't possible work." "There's no such thing as free." You can't help it but you did it didn't you? Come on be honest for a second and admit it. You did set yourself up to fail. Don't worry I did too. That's why I decided that the positive feeling I had was something I needed to have or I couldn't survive and decided to invest in my own well being.

I sought out help from two of the experts who helped write The Secret, Dr. Joe Vitale, and Bob Procter. These to gentlemen have forgotten more about The Law of Attraction than most people know. Their programs are designed to help us get past the barriers we erect inside our minds and help us do what the The Law of Attraction was meant to do. Help us be happier and more content with our lives! There programs are in depth and include methods that are designed to combat all of the negative emotions we carry around with us. I do not have room to go into more detail about their programs; however you can read more about them by reading about The Law of Attraction on my website, shown below.

Remember, it's never too late to feel better about your life and to act in ways that WILL make it something you'll want to live. Don't give up hope when help is just a click away!

    Good Luck.

How to Recognize a Bad SEO Company

    Article Presented by:
    Copyright © 2009 Enzo F. Cesario

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is about getting potential customers to visit your website. It is also about building a quality website full of great content. It uses keywords appropriately and gets links "naturally" because people love what you have on your site. SEO companies can provide very useful services including keyword research, site review, providing technical advice on your website development and also management of online business marketing campaigns. They can also help with content development, article marketing and article distribution. Although it's not brain surgery, it is hard to do and usually requires a lot of thought and real work.

Some unethical SEO firms attempt to manipulate search engine results in unfair ways. These practices could get your website ranked lower or even banned. When looking at SEO - either to optimize it on your own or if you are looking to hire a company, here are some things to take into account.

Be Cautious Of SEO Firms That Say They Will Get Thousands Of Links To Your Site.

It' is not the number of sites that make the difference - it's the quality of the sites. When firms promise huge numbers of links, or say that you' will become part of their "network of sites", it usually means a link farm is involved. A link farm is any group of websites that all hyperlink to every other site in the group. Search engines don't like this and it can lead to penalties. Instead, practice reciprocal linking with legitimate and related websites for better search engine ranking.

Be Wary Of SEO Firms That Guarantee A High Ranking On Google.

No one can guarantee a high ranking on Google. Some SEO companies offer a guarantee on their services. This is fine. What's not fine is guaranteeing high ranking in an incredibly short period of time. When these unrealistic results fail to happen, the company will balk at giving a refund, offer you other services instead, start to become unreachable or disappear.

Be Cautious Of SEO Firms That Send "Spammy" Emails.

These emails are unsolicited and usually begin with "We've noticed that you are not listed in some search engines..." You should be searching for a high-ranking SEO company; they will not be searching for you. Spam means scam. You don't buy your medications from spammers so why buy SEO services from them?

Be Wary Of SEO Firms That Are Secretive Or Don't Clearly Explain What They Are Going To Do.

Most reputable SEO firms are upfront with their clients and like to share their knowledge. They are confident that even if their clients understand their process, they won't leave them. If the SEO firm claims it's too complicated for you to understand, or if they say they have trade secrets and proprietary technology, it's a sign that they may not be ethical in dealing with your website.

Be Wary Of SEO Firms That Say They Will Submit Your Site To Thousands Of Top Search Engines And Directories.

Besides the small fact that there aren't that many search engines, consider that the guidelines of the search engines themselves tell you that it doesn't do any good anymore. Search Engines are good at what they do - searching for sites - and you don't need to pay someone to submit your site to a search engine. If they make this claim, they will probably use Free For All (FFA) junk sites that might damage your site's standings.

Be Cautious Of SEO Firms That Say They Can Optimize And Promote Your Site For A Low, Low Monthly Fee.

Not all monthly SEO or SEM (Search Engine Management) service contracts or monthly fees are a scam. There are real reasons to pay a monthly fee to an SEO expert. These would include conditions when you would require SEO management: when you or someone else is constantly generating new content or new features for your site; implementing link-building campaigns; implementing PPC (Pay Per Click) campaigns; or starting a brandcasting campaign. Press release distribution, email campaigns and article marketing campaigns could also require a legitimate monthly fee.

Not-so-legitimate fees could include monthly re-submitting of your site to search engines, "tweaking" your code to keep up with changes and regularly submitting your site to hundreds of useless free-for-all directories. The worthwhile companies that charge a monthly fee will usually be able to tell you exactly how much it is per month to generate blog entries or generate and distribute articles or press releases. And it won't be for the low, low price of $79.95.

Choose Your SEO Company And Services Carefully.

Do your research and don't make the decision lightly. If you were hiring a contractor to remodel your kitchen you would want to see other kitchen projects they've done and speak with the owners about the company's business practices. You should do the same thing when hiring an SEO company. Get referrals and really speak with them.

There are many online tips about choosing and hiring SEO firms that you can check out as well. Remember, SEO is a long-term strategy and you should take the time to do your research before buying or you'll probably be buying again.

    Working Safely With Solvents

    Article Presented by:
    Copyright © 2009 Rathi Niyogi

Solvents are commonly found in many workplaces. They are used so often that workers forget that they can be very dangerous when not handled appropriate.

Loosely defined, a solvent is a substance, usually a liquid, that is used to dissolve another substance. Solvents can pose a number of health risks as a result of skin contact with the solvents or from inhalation of vapors from the solvent. Also, improperly handled or stored solvents can present risks of fire and explosion.

    Health Effects

One of the most common health hazards associated with exposure to solvents is dermatitis. Contact dermatitis can develop from a single exposure or from multiple exposures. It can leave the skin susceptible to a short-term infection or to a chronic condition. Exposure can also result in sensitization to the solvent, which is a delayed allergic reaction that often becomes more severe with subsequent exposures (for this reason, it is important that workers wear the appropriate protective equipment, such as chemical protective gloves, each and every time they handle solvents). In order to prevent dermatitis, workers handling solvents need to wear chemical protective gloves such as neoprene gloves or nitrile gloves (remember to always check glove manufacturer information to verify chemical compatibility for chemical protective gloves). Also, if there is a risk of splash, coveralls or an apron and eye protection, such as goggles or safety glasses with face shields, should be used.

Solvents can also present respiratory hazards as the result of the inhalation of vapors. Depending on the type and concentration of the solvent, exposure effects can range from mild respiratory irritation to severe damage to body organs and systems. In extreme cases, overexposure to solvent vapors can cause respiratory failure and death. In order to prevent injury resulting from solvents, respiratory protection should be worn. To determine the correct respiratory protection (generally, air-purifying respirators with the appropriate cartridges will be required), check the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the solvent. As with dermatitis, because of the possibility of sensitization with some solvents, appropriate respiratory protection should be worn each and every time a worker is exposed to actionable respiratory levels of solvents. (Note: Prior to requiring respiratory protection when using solvents, make sure that you have instituted an appropriate respiratory protection program, including fit testing, medical evaluation, and training in the use of the types of respirator that will be used by the worker.)

    Handling And Storage

Because solvents are often petroleum- or alcohol-based, they can pose a risk of fire and explosion. For this reason, it is important to ensure that solvents are stored and handled properly, including:

  • Read the labels and the material safety data sheets of the solvents. They list the hazards, health effects, and safe handling procedures as well as information on the flashpoint and boiling point of the solvent (which help to determine the risks for fire and explosion).

  • Take care when pouring solvents from one container to another since fire or explosions can occur from static electricity buildup. Utilize safety cans that incorporate grounding and spill prevention features to help reduce the potential for accidents.

  • Clean up solvent spills promptly and thoroughly.

  • Prohibit welding, cutting, soldering, and other sources of ignition in areas where solvents are used.

  • Store flammable solvents in well-ventilated areas constructed of fire-resistant materials. For smaller quantities of solvents, flammables cabinets are a good storage options (and in many instances are required by local or state building codes). Properly constructed flammable storage cabinets help to prevent solvent spills and, when properly vented, build up of dangerous vapors.

  • Ground and bond all tanks and equipment used for solvent storage.

  • Install fire extinguishers in both work and storage areas. For most solvents, ABC fire extinguishers or B fire extinguishers should be available. Water-only fire extinguishers are not appropriate for use on solvent-related fires as they may spread the fire. (And remember that all workers who are expected to utilize a fire extinguisher in the event of a fire must receive appropriate instruction in the use of fire extinguisher!)
