The creation of the self contained spy camera has made surveillance more efficient and effective than ever before. With one of these cameras, there's no end to the number of previously unanswerable questions that you can now answer.

Everybody has his or her own example of a time when a spy camera would have come in handy. Have you ever suspected that a crime was going to be committed and wished you had a way to catch the criminal in the act? Have you ever wondered just what sort of critter is getting into your trashcan at night? Have you ever wondered if your employees really work as hard when you leave the office as they do when you're there with them? With the use of a self contained spy camera, you can finally answer all these questions.

In so many situations, the things that we see do not accurately represent the way that things really are. People naturally put on different faces for different situations, showing the face that they think is most appropriate. Most of us never get to witness the way somebody acts when they think nobody is looking.

There's a wealth of information that is always hidden behind closed doors and a lot of that information can be extremely useful. For example, if you want to know how a nanny treats your kids when you're not there, or if you have a parent or grandparent in a care facility and suspect that the caregivers are less kind when nobody is looking, there can be nothing more useful than the ability to see inside that room without being there. There are countless other situations where a spy camera can be the perfect tool.

Most of us, at least once, have been asked the question: "If you could have any super-power, which would it be?" For some reason, the most common answer to this question is invisibility. Most people wish they had the power to see into places without being seen, to see what people are saying and doing when they don't think that they're being watched. Well, so far, the invisibility cloak has not yet been invented, but the hidden camera can show you what it feels like to have the power to see what goes on in a space where people believe that they can't be seen.

Now, more than ever, a spy camera can be a great way to gain information. In the old days of covert surveillance, hidden cameras didn't have the capability to record by themselves; they had to send their video feed to a DVR or VCR, either by wireless transmitter or through a cable.

Now, with new technologies that allow a DVR to be smaller than ever before, self contained spy cameras can be built with the DVR included in the body of the camera. The video footage is recorded onto an SD card inside the camera. This SD card can then be plugged into a card reader, just like the SD card for a digital camera. With a modern self contained spy camera, which can come in the form of a small alarm clock or an air freshener, all you need to do is plug it into the wall and it's ready to record by itself.

There are other reasons why modern spy cameras are more efficient than ever before. One of the best features of these cameras is that they can be set to record based on motion detection. With this feature, when you set up your camera to catch that critter getting into your trash can at night, you can avoid taking hours and hours of footage of nothing happening.

Instead, with a spy camera activated by motion detection, the video you watch in the morning will contain footage of the pest in action and nothing else. Or when you set up the camera to capture that hand that has been sneaking into the cookie jar, the only video that will be recorded will be that one bit of incriminating footage that you need.

Luckily, as the technological ingenuity of self contained spy cameras has increased, the price has decreased. So, while you wait for those invisibility cloaks to make it past the drawing board, there is an affordable and effective way for you to gain access to all of the information that has until now remained hidden behind closed doors.
